Don’t Waste Your Money: October 2016

Who doesn’t walk through the store and think, “hmmm I wonder if that works?” Whelp I’m here for you! Below are a few item’s that are not my fave and I would N-O-T buy again for various reasons.

E.L.F. Daily Brush Cleaner – This stuff is horrendous! It’s only $3 but it is not worth it, TRUST ME! I was so angry I spent my 12 quarters on this stuff! The smell is not that great and it does absolutely NOTHING! It does not clean 1 bristle. You might as well just be spraying scented water on your brush. e.l.f has some pretty great finds for $3 but this is not one of them! STAY AWAY!

 

Laura Mercier: Tinted Moisturizer – I want to love this so bad. It’s lightweight, oil-free, and blends out beautifully. Sounds amazing, right? I should love it, right? I tried, I really, really tried. BUT I can’t. I have oily skin and some products although advertised for oily skin …..just don’t work. I tried this with mattifying primers, mattifying powders, mattifying sprays and nothing works! Guaranteed within 2 hours no matter what I do, I’m going to be an oily MESS! Which is such a shame because the product itself is really a beautiful product. If you have normal to dry skin, I would suggest trying this out. HOWEVER if you have oily skin, don’t waste you money or emotions.

Bare Minerals True Oasis Oil Free Replenishing Gel Cream – This is not awful, it’s just not for me. When I tested it out on the back of my hand in the store. It felt amazing! The back of my hand felt like silk. I was sold instantly. BUT when I got home and tried it on my face …….. mmmmm……it just wasn’t the same. I tried this out night and day for 1 week just to make sure that I was secure in my opinion of the product and my initial thoughts didn’t change. When you apply this moisturizer it feels really nice. It also has a pretty nice and light smell, but it leaves a residue. Your face feels sticky after applying. It takes about 10-15 minutes for that sticky feeling to go away. Which sucks especially if you are a makeup wearer. Who has time to sit around for 15 minutes and wait for their moisturizer to absorb?
