What I’m Loving! (November Edition)

Now that we’ve got what I’m not diggin’ out of the way, let’s talk about a few things I’m loving!

  1. CoverFx Highlighter in Bubbly

I got this product in a Sephora gift-set I picked up a few weeks ago (click here to see that video). This highlighter is GORGEOUS! It may look a bit intense on my hand but bear in mind I swatched it a few times to make sure it showed up on camera. The amount you would actually apply for everyday life will not look this intense. It actually shows up as a nice glow. Not shimmery or glittery which I appreciate. I am 32 not 21. I don’t need to look like a fairy smacked me in the face after I highlight.

2. May Coop – Raw Sauce

I will keep it funky, when I bought this I thought it was a serum. That was what the Sephora lady told me. I could tell by the look in her face that she had no idea what it really was. I bought it anyway and used it completely wrong for the first few weeks. For the record, this is not a serum. It’s a hydrating, nourishing ‘essence’ from  maple tree sap. It’s supposed to strengthen the skin and help the skin better absorb the products that follow, boosting their effectiveness. This is meant to be applied after cleansing and toning. Luckily the order in which I apply my skin care was in line with how the product was supposed to actually be applied.

A little goes a long way. The consistency is pretty watery but somehow your face still feels hydrated. As mentioned I thought this was a serum so I used it incorrectly the first few weeks. Regardless, my face did not feel any drier or less moisturized because I was not using an official serum. Just make sure to work the product into the skin by rubbing and patting until fully absorbed. It only takes a second. Warning: The more you use, the longer it takes to absorb, and the more you have to work it in. It may start to feel like sappy water is on your face if you use too much.

3. Tarte – Rainforest of the Sea Maine Boosting Mist

This was another product that came in the Sephora gift-set. I fell in love with this the first time I used it. It’s multi-functional and I love the ingredients. Algae, flower extract, orange peel, sea water, lentil seed extract, caffeine, coconut oil, and lavender oil. There are 4 different ways in which this spray can be used (1) as a primer (2) a hydrating mist (3) setting spray (4) skin refresher. So far I’ve used this as a hydrating mist and setting spray. I love how luxurious it smells and how hydrated my skin was. I will be buying the full size when my baby bottle runs out. Oh, back to the smell. It smells like oranges so if you are not a fan of the way oranges smell you will not like this at all.

5. Caudalie – Beauty Elixir

I don’t have much to say about this one. It’s okay. For me nothing to write home about. I got this because, well, YouTube made me. I was watching some beauty video’s and saw this mentioned a few times. I’m always down for a good spray because I use mostly powder products and sprays are a good way to combat “cake face”. Also I like using them at night after my cleansing routine to help me relax. This spray is good for all skin types and can be used 2 ways. (1) As a toner or (2) after applying foundation but BEFORE applying powder. It’s supposed to help blend and set your makeup. I’ve used it as a toner and finishing spray. It smells like eucalyptus which is nice, but it also has a slight chemically smell (which after using the Tarte spray) kills my vibe!

I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what products you’ve been loving lately… ❤
