30 Day Makeup Challenge Day 22

Favorite toner?

I’ve gone through phases where I’ve love different toners for different reasons.

When my skin is breaking out: I like The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner. It works wonders on acne prone skin during breakout season. It contains just enough tea tree to dry out active pimples but not so much that it dries out your skin completely. The one downside is the active ingredients tend to separate so you have to shake it well before each use which sucks when it’s late and all you want to do is complete your skincare routine and go to bed.

When my skin is clear: I like Thayers Witch Hazel. This is a new favorite. Originally I purchased it to make some DIY postpartum padsicles. However I decided at the last minute not to make any leaving me with a whole container of witch hazel. The great thing about Thayers is its multipurpose. Including being used as a toner. Since I already had the bottle and was not going to use it to make padsicles, I decided to try it out as a toner and I LOVED IT! It’s gentle, smells amazing, and most of all it works without all the yucky ingredients most other toners have.

Bonus: Another favorite of mines when my face is clear is Pixi’s Glow Tonic. It works. It actually brightens the skin. And it’s gentle.
