Where do I start with Gideon Falls? ….. The best description I can come up with is The X Files meet Fringe (if you are familiar with either television show, drop a tv in the comments).

Gideon Falls is the mystical story of a black barn. A black barn that’s appeared and reappeared in different locations throughout history leaving destruction, chaos, and confusion, in its wake. When it appears, it “calls” to certain people. Either causing them to do its bidding, or infecting them.

For this story, the Black Barn has called to two completely different men. One, a man of the cloth. The other, plagued by mental illness. Each man is pulled towards the Black Barn for different reasons. Can one man figure out how to finally destroy the barn before the other completes it restoration releasing the evil contained within?

Gideon Falls is compelling, intriguing, captivating and so much more. There’s timeline jumping. Obsession. Questions of faith. Lure. World building. Character building. I can go on and on. I was hooked from book one. The way the story is told, you know something is going on but you don’t know what until around book 4. Once you have an idea of what’s going on, the story takes you on a journey from both perspectives as each man attempts to fulfill his calling.

Gideon Falls is part fantasy, part mystery, part psychological thriller. It’s amazing!

As of the time of this post (November 11, 2025), it’s on Amazon for $8.79. Or, you can probably get it from your local library as I did.
