Album of the Month

This one is going to be short and sweet. My album of the month this month is Eldorado by Ro James. A little backstory on Ro, he’s a 24 year old singer. Eldorado is his debut album under a major record label. He’s written songs for Miguel and is heavily influenced by Prince which was evident on some of his songs. I remember listening to the album thinking on certain songs, “this sounds like some Prince shit!”, which is perfectly fine with me, I love me some PRINCE!! Eldorado was released in May 2016. It’s taken me awhile to get around to it but I’m glad I finally got a chance to listen.

I would have never guessed that he is only 24. His songs sound more mature. My standards have been ruined by the current state of R&B. However, Ro James is a breath of fresh air. He sings about loving a woman, confusion, pain, hurt, and (of course) sex. I really enjoy the vibe of his album. My favorite song is actually the single from the album, Permission.
